A tropical storm from Venezuela with Pocz and Dj Yirvin offering a taste of the country’s wild underground Tuki scene. The unmistakable rhythm of Tuki music is heard in barrios across Caracas fueling a dance culture every bit as intense as footwork or kuduro from other parts of the word. Very little Tuki music has been released outside of Venezuela which makes this collaboration between Pocz, known for his past work with Pacheko on Enchufada, Tigerbeat and Senseless and DJ Yirvin, one of the godfathers of the scene, all the more exciting. The title, Explotala comes from something to shout at a DJ from the heat of the Venezuelan dancefloor.
Three originals from Pocz showcase his rhythmic flair and dancefloor sensibilities in a style that merges Tuki and Kuduro influences to devastating effect. Yirvin mixes big room sounds with the dark energy of Caracas at night to create a sound that is his and only his, his remix of Explotala is mutant bass madness and Petare is considered one of his classics.
The video features two of the city’s best Tuki dancers, watch those feet.

Tambien cuenta con la bellisima participacion de Arena, reina del Hip-Hop caraqueno
Se realizo con la ayuda y la creatividad de Yann Manuguerra, y producido por Klvo (Daniel Calvo, Babylon MotorHome) con el apoyo de Pilla Records y Abstractor. El arte del disco fue realizado por dos artistas plasticas de talento: Angela Hernandez y Karol Guerrero (de Colombia las dos).

El broder caraqueño KIEV está haciendo música muy buena. Para mí es uno de los mejores productores de música electornica hoy en día en Venezuela. En 2011 empezó a producir un poco de bass-house tropical y a remezclar clásicos de changa tuki a su estilo, pero antes solía enfocarse sólo en tracks de bajos fuertes a 140bpm (que es un a manera más larga y complicada de decir que hacía Dubstep). Como casi todos los géneros de música, ya hoy en día el Dubstep (que se escribe pegado y no separado tipo dub-step) tiene ciertas características que lo definien como deporte. Lo que quizá no todos saben el lo mucho que Kiev dominó el juego. Para muestra un FREE TRACK. Esto es Dubstep vieja escuela, Half Step bien joropeadito, y nada de esa comida enlatada barata que es Skrillex, Excision o Korn. Bájense esto pues y cojan escuela los dubsteperos.
Venezuelan wizkid Kiev is one of my favourite new producers. He is nowdays making fat-sounding basshouse, remixing Changa Tuki Classics and just making music at various tempos. But some months ago he was mostly focused on Dubstep. Check out this free track and enjoy how much he dominated the 140bpm halfstep game. This sounds like golden era halfstep, circa 2006, dmz style. Love it. Light years away from most of the rapmetal sounding crap you hear nowdays.

Los amigos de COCOBASS RECORDS (que tambien tienen el crew satanico NTSFRSH) llegan a 16 releases en su sello!. Una cifra realmente impresionante para un netlabel venezolano. Lo mas admirable es que con muy poca experiencia y muchas ganas, Eduardo (aka FLYVCK) y Daniel (aka DIAMANTERO) han logrado crear una identidad como sello tanto a nivel gráfico como a nivel musical: Dembow Experimental, Cumbia Bass, Moombathon, Tribal Guarachero, NeoTuki, y mucho LowFi Tropical pueden ser algunas de las etiqueras para sus releases que incluyen artistas de México, Brasil, Francia, USA y Venezuela. Otro punto a admirar es que cada vez los discos suenan mejor! El ejemplo más claro para mi es el disco de LOL BOYS ¨Bubbles¨ cuyo tema POP THEM lo hemos puesto bastante en las rumbas ABSTRACTOR y en ABSTRACTOR RADIO, y que para mí marca un antes y un después en COCOBASS. Por otro lado no podemos dejar por fuera el trabajo de hormiga que han hecho amigos como Jairomendezz, Sunsplash y el crew BINK al apoyarlos con su experiencia, música y ganas. Congratulaciones a estos panas, que si siguen así van a dar muchísimo de qué hablar tanto en Latinoamérica como en el resto del mundo. Dont Stop!!!

Our dear friends Eduardo (aka FLYVCK) and Daniel (aka DIAMANTERO) from COCOBASS RECORDS have reached 16 releases on their netlabel. Its an amazing number for a venezuelan netlabel. The thing I admire the most is that without real experience or Know-How of any kind this guys have put together a solid netlabel with a very well defined personality both visually and musically, all due to a ruthless determination. Tropical LowFi, Experimental Dembow, Cumbia Bass, NeoTuki and 3Ball Guarachero have been some of the styles they´ve put out with a rooster of artists from Mexico, France, Brasil, USA and Veneuzela. The label´s sound quality and promotion work gets better as time goes by and this couldn´t be possible without a little help from their friends: Jairomendezz, Sunsplash and the BINK crew. On 2011 they released a full experimental album by LOL BOYS called ¨Bubbles¨ and it has been my favourite Cocobass Release so far. Can´t wait to see how this story develops in the future, but Im sure if they keep the hard work real and fun they´re releases are gonna reach much more people and further frontiers each and every time. Don`t stop bros!!!. PS.- They also run a pretty cool blog called NTSFRSH.
